Why is international freight often transported by sea freight agents
International freight is a logistics freight that currently involves a wide range of regions, and its uniqueness and required service capabilities test the comprehensive capabilities of freight companies. But why do you say that? Because international shipping documents require a significant amount of manpower and material resources for the entire journey of transportation.
International freight, as the name suggests, refers to the specific exchange and trade of goods between countries through logistics, and the logistics import and export between countries is not something that ordinary enterprises or individuals can accomplish or even bear the related costs. Therefore, logistics companies have followed the trend of globalization and started to take international routes, opening up the convenience of freight transportation for domestic enterprises.
In international freight, most people know that current logistics tend to favor sea freight. So, why is international freight more often transported by sea, and what are the benefits of it?
1、 Shipping has a larger cargo capacity
Nowadays, countries are inclined towards the path of globalization, and the speed of technological development is incomparable. And one of the products of technological development, ships, has evolved from being used only for carrying people at that time to the current sea giants. Large ships of tens of thousands or even tens of millions of tons are now the main force of maritime transportation, carrying thousands of goods back and forth on the sea.
Compared to current freight planes and freight trains, sea freight has a larger cargo capacity. If Air freight is used, the carrying capacity is low, so it is generally not used for urgent or high-quality items. Compared to air transportation, land transportation by train does indeed require more cargo volume, but there are also certain limitations. Moreover, if the journey is long, it is more troublesome and not a good choice. Therefore, compared to cargo volume, sea transportation is a better choice.
2、 Compared to sea freight, the cost is lower
Air freight adopts the method of air transportation, which can directly reach the destination in a short period of time, but needs to consider an international situation, which is the cost issue. For freight companies, the goal is to make profits. While it is good to be able to deliver goods to customers in a short period of time, if the cost is not enough, it will be difficult to sustain in the future. In terms of land transportation, the cost is indeed lower than air transportation, but if the distance is relatively long, the calculated manpower and material resources are also lower. Sea freight is one of the more suitable options among the three. At the same price, sea freight can transport more goods, and the distance is generally not as far as land freight. Of course, there is a corresponding gap between sea freight and air freight, but it is a good choice in terms of cost.
So, compared to the above situation, it has resulted in more international freight now choosing sea freight rather than shorter air freight or the common land freight in daily life. This is a current trend and an operational model that will continue for a long time to come.
